A Small Taste of Oregon
Originally named North Yamhill, it was incorporated under the name Yamhill by the Oregon Legislative Assembly on February 20, 1891.
Yamhill, a small farming town located half way between Portland and the Coast, is in the heart of Willamette Valley’s Wine Country. Home of the Yamhill/Carlton High school and Intermediate School. Yamhill is a small community with 1105 citizens who are proud to call it home.

The water rate decision was updated on 11/29/23 at the City Council Special Session following the Work Session. The new rates will follow the water rate study presented in 2023. You will see the changes reflected on your January 2024 statement sent out at the end of January 2024. Get a basic card to check out 10 items per month (books, movies, games, tools, and so much more) – all for FREE! If returning to the library is a hassle, no problem! The City of Yamhill is currently looking for interested citizens for the City Budget Committee and the Water Advisory Committee. Experience is not required. Desirable qualifications would include experience in municipal activities, working with organizations, voluntary positions, committee and/or group projects. Candidates must be residents who have resided within the city limits of Yamhill for the last twelve (12) consecutive months. All interested parties are invited to submit an application.
